Welcome to Virginia Tech Pesticide Programs

Protecting human health and the environment and promoting regulatory compliance through pesticide safety education for over 50 years.

Virginia Tech Pesticide Programs (VTPP) provide pesticide safety information, training, and educational resources to pesticide applicators, Extension agents, and the public.  Our mission is to minimize the human health and environmental impacts associated with improper handling and application of pesticides. VTPP works with other state agencies including the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Virginia Cooperative Extension to advance the quality of pesticide safety education in Virginia and beyond.

Please visit our COVID-19 and Applicator Certification page for the most recent information regarding the status of the Virginia Tech campus and community as well as the procedures in place for applicator certification and recertification during the pandemic.
