Below is a list of the 23 pesticide applicator training manuals produced by our program, along with brief descriptions of each. These manuals can be ordered from the VCE website.
  • Agricultural Animal Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides on agricultural animals, and places on or in which such animals are confined.
  • Agricultural Plant Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides in the production of agricultural crops, on grasslands, and on noncrop agricultural land.
  • Aquatic Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides in or on standing or running waters to control pests (excluding activities relating to public health).
  • Chemigation - For commercial applicators applying pesticides through an irrigation system.
  • Demonstration and Research Pest Control - For commercial applicators who teach proper pesticide use, application techniques, and/or make pesticide recommendations; for research application of pesticides in greenhouses or field plots.
  • Forest Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides in forests, forest nurseries, and seed orchards.
  • Fumigation (Nonagricultural) - For commercial applicators using fumigant pesticides to control pests in structures and items other than soils and raw agricultural commodities.
  • Fumigation of Soil and Agricultural Products - For commercial applicators using pesticides for soil fumigation in the production of agricultural commodities and/or fumigation of agricultural products.
  • General Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides to control household pests, including pests that infest structures, stored products, and residential food preparation areas.
  • Management of Wood-Destroying Organisms - For commercial applicators using pesticides other than fumigants to control organisms that destroy structures made of or containing wood.
  • Marine Antifoulant Paints - For commercial applicators using marine antifoulant paints containing tributyltin or other restricted-use pesticides.
  • Ornamental Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides to maintain ornamental plants in interiorscapes or landscapes.
  • Predator Management - For USDA/APHIS/WS employees seeking certification, or for others seeking background information on predator management.
  • Public Health Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides to manage or control pests of medical significance that pose a risk to public health.
  • Regulatory Pest Control - For federal, state, and local governmental employees using pesticides to control regulated pests.
  • Right-of-Way Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides in the maintenance of public rights-of-way such as roads, electric power lines, and railways.
  • Seed Treatment - For commercial applicators applying pesticides to seeds.
  • Sewer Root Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides to control roots in sewer lines.
  • Turf Pest Control - For commercial applicators using pesticides to maintain ornamental turf in sites such as golf courses and parks.
